Whether you are a newbie or a professional with experience with AI chatbots, it is critical to select the proper solution to maximize the benefits of our generation’s greatest technical achievements. While the majority of them are geared to generate human conversations, just a few can assist you with artistic needs.
Then there’s the issue of accessibility: how simply can you access your AI chatbot across devices? There’s also the matter of whether you should pay for a monthly or annual subscription to get all the extra benefits.

Google Gemini

Gemini is one of the nicest AI chatbots available today. Gemini, an upgrade of the Google Bard AI chatbot, will be released in early 2024. It promises richer and more relevant responses, multimodal capabilities, and a gateway to the Gemini Advanced AI model.

Gemini is a standalone chatbot app for Android that can take over some of Google Assistant’s tasks. On iOS, Gemini will be available through the native Google Search app. Gemini is now available online to anyone with a Google account.

Open AI ChatGPT
Platforms: Web, iOS and Android
OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been around for a while, and despite rising competition from Google, Meta, and other major industry companies, it remains one of the greatest AI chatbots available.
ChatGPT is free to everyone in the world, but with some clear limitations. As a free user, you only have access to the obsolete GPT-3.5 model, which has a knowledge cut-off date of January 2024. The free approach mostly deals with simple text-based interactions. You can ask questions, get help authoring documents, translate from other languages, assist with code snippets, and offer general advice.
With a ChatGPT Plus subscription, you get access to GPT-4’s advanced AI processing as well as multimodal capabilities. The plan also gives access to DALL.the E 3 image generation bot, browsing, advanced data analysis, and more. The plan costs USD 20 per month (approximately INR 1,700 per month).
You can access ChatGPT via the iOS and Android apps on mobile. Additionally, you can also log in to the web version from your PC.

Microsoft Copilot
Platforms: iOS, Android, Windows and Web
Microsoft does not have its own AI model, but since the inception of AI chatbots by OpenAI, Satya Nadella and his team have been eager to integrate the latest version of GPT into their Windows and Microsoft 365 products. As a result of this early adoption, Microsoft’s offering in this segment is highly refined and productive.
Following initial experiments with Bing Chat, Microsoft consolidated all of its AI chatbot efforts into Copilot, a comprehensive platform for generative AI needs. The standard free plan provides access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 during non-peak hours, offering features such as multimodal inputs, 15 free boosts for image generation, webpage summarization, plug-ins, and a choice of GPTs. Users can even select the conversation style to be more precise or biased towards creativity.
For INR 2,000 per month, users can subscribe to Copilot Pro and gain priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo, even during peak hours. Additionally, Copilot is integrated into some of the Microsoft 365 apps for tasks such as drafting documents, summarizing emails, and creating presentations. Subscribers also receive 100 boosts for image generation daily.
Microsoft Copilot is embedded into Windows 11 PCs, utilizing the Edge browser to display search results. A dedicated app is available for Android and iOS users to access the services on mobile devices, and there is also a web version available for both free and paid users.

Grok
Platforms: X
Despite being in the early stages of development, xAI’s Grok offers certain advantages that its competitors cannot match. While ChatGPT Plus and Gemini Advanced excel in their multimodal capabilities, Grok stands out with a vastly superior knowledge bank. X (formerly Twitter) is where much of the world’s news breaks first, along with expert opinions and a general public perspective, making it a valuable resource for an AI chatbot.
Whether it’s concerns about Taylor Swift’s dating history or the latest developments on GTA 6, Grok aims to provide reliable and useful answers. The engineers behind Grok have also designed it to be clever and humorous, qualities that were openly endorsed by Elon Musk a few months ago.
In the future, Grok is expected to also have the ability to generate images like DALL.E 3 and Midjoruney, as well as to develop a wittier personality.
To access Grok, users need to have an account on X and subscribe to the X Premium+ service, which is priced at INR 1,300 per month or INR 13,600 per annum. Claude is an advanced AI chatbot with the potential to rival ChatGPT and Google Gemini. While it currently lacks multimodal capabilities, Claude aims to provide more human-like responses to queries and offer effective solutions. According to its creators at Anthropic, Claude has been designed to be helpful, harmless, and honest.
By default, Claude can answer general knowledge questions by searching the internet, engage in open-ended discussions, and recall previous conversation points. However, its true strength lies in its ability to offer diverse perspectives, clarify complex questions, acknowledge mistakes, and politely decline inappropriate requests.
In summary, Claude is designed to be the opposite of Grok.
The free plan has limitations on the number of queries and may have increased waiting times during high traffic periods. For USD 20 per month (approximately INR 1,700), users can access faster speeds during peak hours, gain early access to new features, and enhance their overall Claude experience.
